The tighter security means that you need to make sure you don't unsuccessfully attempt to connect to your account more than five times; The firewall will see your attempts as a possible attack, and your IP address will be blocked.
If this does happen, it means that not only will you be blocked from your own cPanel, you also won't be able to access any of the content on our server, including emails, your own website, ftp access and even Rhye Media's website.
If you are having access issues, we offer our apologies and advise you to follow the steps below to confirm if you have been blocked:
- Ensure your cache has been cleaned, and open the website in your browser.
- If you can see the site, go to ftp://www.(yourdomainhere).com.au
- Enter the supplied username and password; you should see the index list. - Open the run prompt (in Windows only).
- Enter cmd
- Type ping www.(yourdomainhere).com.au
- Note the IP address; It should be 114.111.156.165 - In your browser go to the following url: server1.rhyemedia.com.au:2083
- If you can see the login try the supplied username and password.
- This should give you access to the cPanel system.
If that doesn't work, supply us with your IP number. (If you're unsure of what it is, visit ipchicken.com and record your IP address from there.) Once we have this information we'll look through the firewall logs to see if your connection is being blocked.
If you still haven't updated your domain records from the old server to the new, today is your very last chance. On Tuesday the previous server will be permanently disabled and your site will go offline. You must complete the changes by close of business today in order to give the server time to propagate.
