Blackwood Special Schools Outdoor Education Centre is excited to announce the launch of its updated website, which went live on Monday, 15th September 2024.
The revamped website reflects the school’s new branding guidelines, which were received in late June, and brings a fresh, vibrant look to the online presence of the centre.
The redesign process began with the transformation of concepts into a workable template, which was integrated into the school’s updated Joomla! 5 Content Management System (CMS).

Wacky the Wombat
A key feature of the new design includes custom character drawings for the school's mascot, adding a playful and unique element that resonates with students and visitors alike. Additionally, the design incorporates a range of creatively shaped image masks, making the website visually engaging and dynamic.
To ensure a seamless transition, all the site's existing content was reformatted to align with the new design concept and layout. After a thorough review and testing phase, the website has now been made available to the public, and the school is thrilled with the results.
With this updated website, Blackwood Special Schools Outdoor Education Centre is poised to provide an enhanced user experience, making it easier than ever for the community to stay connected and informed.
However, the work doesn't stop here.
The team will continue collaborating with Blackwood to refine and expand the website, adding new content as needed. Currently, efforts are focused on developing a new spreadsheet layout process to manage and present future bookings, with more details to come soon.
